This listing is for a factory original Gibson USA Custom Shop Les Paul Lifton ReIssue Hard Shell guitar case.
It's one of the very rare ReIssue cases that were Made In Costa Rica. As you can see, the case is much more " period correct " than the newer style of Lifton ReIssue cases. The case features a brown tolex exterior with a more accurate colored plush, pure pink interior, a single neck block ( neck rest or cradle ) and smaller latches than the newer Lifton ReIssue cases. These are all the same characteristics, found on the original vintage genuine Lifton cases that were made in the 1950's.
The case came with a brand new Custom Shop 1959 Les Paul Standard that has an MSRP of $9174.00. It has one small ding in the tolex on the lid. Otherwise the case is in excellent to near mint condition.
The Gibson Custom Shop gold / brass logo badge ( name plate ) is on the side of the vintage brown exterior. The plush pure pink interior is beautiful and the case is finished with gold / brass colored hardware. There's also a factory lock on the side so you can secure your guitar, while it's being stored or transported, and the key is included.
These were designed like the Lifton USA vintage brown Cali Girl cases that were made in the 1950's and those cases usually sell for $3000 to $5000. That is, if you can find one in this condition.
It's the same Custom Shop case that came with an R4 R5 R6 R7 R8 R9 1954 1955 1956 1957 1958 1959 ReIssue Historic Select Collection Collectors Choice and 60th Anniversary Yamano Hand Picked MTM Tom Murphy Aged Les Paul Standard or Custom etc. that sell for $5000.00 to $20,000.00 or more.
Most of these cases stay with the guitars, so you'll rarely see a Costa Rica Custom Shop case like this one, for sale.
The case will work with any single cutaway right hand or left handed RH LH Epiphone or Gibson LesPaul Tom Murphy ReIssue Custom Shop Class 5 Elegant Historic Pro Special Standard Supreme Junior Jr or Ultima type electric guitars as well as many other models and brands.
The only Les Pauls that will not fit are the double cutaway SG style Les Paul from the 1960's or the LesPaul Personal / Recording Model that was made in the 1970's.
If you need one, we also have several SG cases on our other eBay listings.
If you have a Gibson Les Paul you really need the factory original case, to protect your guitar and maintain the maximum value of it.
