Hello;
The pups will not be damaged, but your friend may hear a loud pop. If the pop occurs, try putting the switch on the black wire of the battery clip instead.

Subject: Any risk to damage a ZW pair with a kill-switch?
Hello,
A friend of mine bought recently a Zakk Wylde active set and would like to install a kill-switch in the circuit.
The switch he plans to use for this is a SPST, normally off, momentary pushbutton that would ground the jack tip, potentially short-cutting the mics output.
Is there any risk to damage the pickups when doing so? Which alternative solution would you propose if the risk is really there?
