Voici pour ceux que ça intéresse un échange que j'ai eu avec le service technique d'ENGL :
moi :
hi,
I recently bought a second-hand amp head which is the engl savage 120. I ordered at Thomann a pair of power tubes ENGL 6550 indicated as coupled now I received it with a different grade for each: 58 and 32. I think that on my head the grades of 6550's are 43. Do I have to buy exactly the same grade(43) for each tube ?
Can I simply replace tubes in my amp head or do I have to ask to a technician for a bias setting ?
how much important is the grade for tubes ?
thanks for all.
Best regards,

Hi Frederic,
I hope you are doing fine.
At first, you need to buy a pair of tubes which are nearly the same (+/- 2 grades). When you insert tubes with the same grade as the previously installed you do not need to rebias (the same as before: prev +/- 2 grades). Please leave tube replacing professional technicians only because there´s risk of electric shock.
