Notice et schéma technique Fender Champ 12.

Bonjour à tous,

Je suis donc à la recherche du manuel d'utilisation et du schèma technique d'un Fender Champ 12.

J'ai trouvé plusieurs schèmas techniques mais de très mauvaise qualité, presque illisible, quant a la notice, c'est histoire de l'avoir, elle doit donner quelques détails techniques sur l'ampli je pensse, c'est pas un ampli très compliqué à utiliser.

"The Fender Champ 12 amplifier combines all-tube, footswitchable overdrive capability, reverb, and a Fender Special Design 12" speaker all in a compact yet sturdy enclosure. The Champ 12 utilizes state of the art construction techniques and minimum parts count for maximun reliability. The amplifier uses only three tubes and features a unique CLASS-A type output section which causes the 6L6GC tube to produce a distinctively smooth sound which has proven to be a very popular characteristic of low-power tube amps over the years.
The tonal characterisics have been tailored to produce a wide range of sounds in both the clean and overdrive modes. The tone controls actually work over a different range while in the overdrive mode effectively giving the player a second set of controls. The PULL FOR MID BOOST feature on the treble control provides even more flexibility and will produce a fatter tone useful for distortion playing.
The Champ 12 also offers a variety of input options. The Tape input is useful for the attachment of any line level signal source to be used as accompaniment, be it a tape player, CD player, or rhythm machine. Stereo inputs are provided and the signal is converted to mono inside the Champ 12. The volume control on the external signal source varies its level and the Champ 12 volume controls set the instrument level. This feature is particularly handy for practicing and works well in conjunction with headphones plugged into the headphone jack for private playing. In addition to the headphone jack the Champ 12 has a line output jack that provides an unbalanced signal which is useful for the connection of slave power amps and larger speaker systems for more output. This output can also be connected to a mixing console, equalized and then used for recording or sound reinforcement.

Champ 12 Front Panel Functions
A. INPUTS - Plug-in connection for instruments. Input 1 has a higher sensitivity and impedance than Input 2 and is suitable for most all instruments. Input 2 has 6db less gain and is useful for clean sound with high output pickups. When jacks 1 and 2 are used simultaneously they both have the same sensitivity.

B. TREBLE - Adjusts the amount of boost (accentuation) or cut (attenuation) in the high frequency range. This knob also can be pulled out for boosted midrange which is useful in the overdrive mode for more sustain and drive.

C. BASS - Adjusts the amount of boost or cut in the low frequency range. This control automatically operates over a different range in the overdrive mode to provide optimum equalization for distortion playing.

D. VOLUME - Adjusts the overall loudness when in the clean mode (overdrive indicator is off).

E. GAIN - Adjusts the amount of amplification in the preamp when in the overdrive mode (overdrive indicator is on). Ceaner sound is achieved at lower gain settings. High gain setting.

Je souhaiterai modifier mon Champ 12 avec le Kit Torrés Tone Mod RKO et ai trouvé votre post.
Avez-vous eu des difficultés à le monter?
Quel est le gain apporté à l'ampli?

j'ai modifié l'ampli avec un kit Torres qui modifie le gain : le jour et la nuit. maintenant c'est progressif. indispensable.

J’ai fait l’acquisition fin février 2010 d’un ampli à lampes Fender Champ 12.
Je ne connaissais pas du tout cet ampli et lors du premier essai, je dois avouer que je m’attendais à bien pire, pour commencer, dès la mise sous tension, le bourdonnement m’a fait penser à un problème de masse sur ma guitare...

1. Le Champ 12 original :

- Le canal clair sonnait bien avec ma Strat, assez bien défini, équilibré, mais on arrivait vite au maximum de sortie, coté puissance ça paraissait bien juste.
- Le canal saturé, tout ou rien, réglages gain et volume inefficaces, un volume très important, difficile de mixer les deux canaux.
Le son, avec le gain au mini, était acceptable avec un excellent sustain et un crunch qui rendait bien l’expression du jeu.

- La réverb, ben, j’ai cru d’abord qu’elle était en panne.... Ah ben non, on l’entend un peu !
Elle donne tout de même une couleur moins raide au son.

Et puis tous les forums parlaient du potentiel d’évolution avec les kits de Torres engineering, avec, la aussi, des avis plutôt partagés.
Grace au concours d’Internautes et après avoir glané pas mal d’infos, je me suis lancé dans la modification de mon Champ 12.

2. Le Champ 12 modifié Torres Engineering:

Les deux canaux sont plus équilibrés, le canal clair a gagné en clarté et parait avoir un niveau de sortie plus élevé.
On peut régler le gain de façon beaucoup plus précise, le volume est toujours conséquent pour un dix watt.
En fait on a vraiment un ampli deux canaux parfaitement réglables.

En pratique, le Champ 12 modifié convient parfaitement à mon style de musique, un très bon ampli pour le blues, voire un peu plus, qui accepte avec bonheur les pédales d’effet.
Dix gros watts, class A, un HP de 12 pouces, 1 tube 6L6 GC et deux 12AX7 que l’on peut changer sans problème puisque cathode BIAS, un son clair fendérien et un canal saturé exploitable.
On en trouve de temps à autre d’occasion autour de 200 Euro, je pense qu’à ce prix là, on peut tenter l’expérience.
J'ai fait de la scène, avec repiquage bien sur, il est presque trop fort en répétition!

J'ai LE son que je cherchais pour mon style de musique.
