Me voici de retour, avec la correspondance que je tiens avec Andrew Benson, le boss de Praxis Guitars.

Hello,
My name is Mathieu, and I am a French musician.
I have just discovered Praxis Guitars, and I showed your products to some friends, on the French forum "guitariste.com".
We are talking about it
in this topic, which I started under the ID "milenko".
As you can see (if you can understand a little French), we are quite enthousiastic about your guitars, and we are eager to get some piece of informations :
- What would be
the price of a complete basic Praxis guitar ? Just to have a vague idea.
- Your photos show scalloped neck, don't they ?
Are all the necks scalloped ? Would it be
possible to order a regular neck ?
- Do you have
any sound samples of your guitars ?
We are looking forward to your answer, should you have some time.
Sincerly,
Mathieu

Hi Mathieu,
The questions you asked are complicated, but I will attempt to answer them. If my answers do not make sense, please ask more questions.
-The price is, in some sense, impossible to answer. I will be selling the guitars I make on ebay. The guitars are all cut by robots; I will be releasing the source code for free soon. This way, you can find someone in France who has access to a CNC machine, and have them build you one. It gets more complicated because I am trying to release the source code as free for personal use, with a license fee for commercial use. Also, (and feel free to make fun of me for this) all of the design files are made to be cut using “inch” tools – I have to translate them to metric soon.
As a shortened answer – If you want to buy the guitar from me, and have it shipped to France, it will probably be very expensive. If you find someone else to build it, I am trying to arrange so that they would owe me 10% of the sale price. If you want to build one for yourself, it would be free (well, you would have to buy the wood and parts – where I live, you can get them for around $200 US.)
-I love scalloped necks, but you can get the guitar without one - You can have it built anyway you want. The files will be released, and anyone can change them to fit their preference. Different Scales lengths, different pickup combinations… Really, anything you want can be changed.
-Sound samples are coming soon – I don’t have the money for recording equipment, but I have a friend who built a recording studio in his garage. As soon as I find the time to go over there, I will have some recordings. The idea, however, is that the guitar can be easily customized, so that you can make it sound pretty much any way you want.
I am in the process of fixing all of the digital files and getting them ready for release. I will let you know when they are ready – you should try to find someone with access to a cnc machine so you can have one made locally when the files are released.
You should find Praxis Guitars on Facebook. There is a link on the homepage of praxisguitars.com
Rock on-
_Andrew
Also – feel free to post any of these answers on the forum. I am rebuilding my website with more information – I will let you know when it is online.
