Michael also uses T-Rex “Replica” Digital Delay pedals. MAB feels that they are the best delays he has ever used.
Strings: Ernie Ball .009 to .042 for soloing and most rhythm guitar parts. Thicker gauge strings are also used for dropped D and detuned guitars. The Acoustic gauge is normally .010 to .046 or .011 to .052 .
Guitar picks: Dunlop Jazz 3’s in black. Michael has used “teardrop” shaped picks since he first started playing the guitar. He always uses Dunlop Jazz 3’s for soloing-in concert or in the studio. Other pick sizes and thickness’ vary for acoustic guitar.
Amplifiers: Marshall JCM 800, 900, 2000 and JMP 1 amps and pre amps.
Cabinets: 4x12 Marshall cabinets loaded with Celestion vintage 30’s, Greenbacks in mono and stereo.
Studio outboard gear, pre amps and FX: Eventide Eclipse, Rocktron Intellifex, Rocktron Replifex, vintage original prototype Digitech Whammy Pedal, Cry Baby Wah pedal, Vintage Digitech 256 multi FX units, Rocktron Chameleon pre amp and Rocktron Voodoo Valve pre amp.
Pick-ups: Michael uses DiMarzio pick-ups, Seymour Duncan pick-ups and EMG pick-ups. "
