The only gigs on the cards was a short tour as a support for the French star Johnny Halliday. According to Chas it was Halliday that asked to have Jimi do the support. Keeping in mind that the Jimi Hendrix Experience had just finished auditions before they were thrust in with the Halliday tour, youu must admit that the boys did exceptionaly well. It is believed by Mitch that Johnny Halliday was actually scouting for new members for his own band, and this was a safe to see them in action, Jimi though only wanted his own band and Chas new he had a brilliant new talent in his hands and was more interested in setting them up to tour themselves.
The first gigs with the Halliday band were a strange brew, Halliday would rock up in his Mustang whilst all the roadies and the Experience were stuck in this rickety old coach, tensions were high. Whilst touring on the bus Mitch got the atmosphere smoothed out a little by rolling some joints and getting everyone stoned, the good times were about to begin.
