this is a review for the New melody maker with 2 single coil pickups and a three way switch! i bought the worn white, the body is the same as the melody maker with the p90 mahogany....the neck is very nice smooth frets easy to hold and plays fast....the tuners stay in tune pretty well but i will upgrade to grovers
easy for girls hands... this is a full on joan jett guitar !the single coils sound like no fender single coil i ever played ..they sound nasty and full
Sound : 10
* How does it suit your music style (and what is that style)?
* What amps and effects are you using it with?
* Is it noisy? On what settings?
* Rich/Full sound? Bright sound?
* What kind of sounds can the guitar make? How much variety?
* Likes and dislikes?
OK This is a full on Rock Guitar the bridge pickup on mine is hotter briter than the neck pickup which can sound dark togeather they sound really good all diffrent kinds of tones you can get from this guitar..
i am a p90 and a huge humbucker fan but i had to give this a try and im so @ucking glad i did.. i love the feel the weight the over all look of the guitar white ala joan jett / punk rock guitar
..i play through a fender reverb with a big muff and also a marshall ..
Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
* How well was the guitar set-up at the factory? (How was the action?)
* How well were the pickups adjusted?
* Properly bookmatched top? Properly routed bridge?
* Did the guitar contain any flaws? (misaligned bracing, poorly filed fretwire, finish flaws, poor quality wood, rusted or oxidized hardware, loose tuning pegs, poorly cut nut, poorly fit saddle, noisy pickup selector, loose controls, etc...)
well it needs a set up, its playable but i need to put on better strings ernie balls ..the strings it came with kinda suck..
then i will take it to my guitar tech for adjustments
Reliability/Durability : 9
* Will this guitar withstand live playing?
* Does the hardware seem like it will last?
* Is the finish good enough to last, or does it seem thin and easy to wear off with lots of playing?
* Are the strap buttons solid?
* Can you depend on it?
* Would you use it on a gig without a backup?
yes this guitar is solid little rocker feels less fragile than my Sg jr..
..needs new strap buttons they are small..never gig without a backup guitar!
Customer Support : No Opinion
* Ever try and get it repaired? Was it under warranty
* How long is the warranty
* If you've dealt with the company, how helpful/friendly were they?
Overall Rating : 9
* How long have you been playing? What other gear do you own?
* Is there something you wish you had asked before buying this guitar?
* If it were stolen or lost, would you buy it again or get something else?
* What do you love about it? What do you hate? What is your favorite feature?
* Did you compare it to other guitars? Which ones? Why did you choose this one?
* Anything you wish it had?
* Anything else you'd like to share?
well over 15 years i have been in 4 bands and solo stuff..i would buy another Melody maker like this in a heart beat...i love the feel of the neck the size and weight and most of all the pickups ..this is a great guitar for the money..
