In general, the 715/716 Orange Drops work best where people need high clarity and strong note-to-note definition, and don't want the top end to roll off. Mallory 150's and 225P and 6PS Orange Drops tend to be a little warmer to most ears. Both the 150 and the 715/716 (as well as other mass-produced brands like Illinois) are found extensively in high-end RI's, boutiques, etc. with plenty of great results. It's not something I lose sleep over.

For example, 715P/716P are polypropylene.....225P & 192P are Polyester
Does Polypropylene sound different from Polyester? YES.
Nothing frosts my chops more than when I see people say things like "Mallory 150 caps sound better than Orange Drops"........WHICH orange drop?
A Mallory 150 is polyester, and sounds nothing like a [polypropylene]OD715P, but it sounds damn near identical to a [polyester]OD225P.
Compare construction materials, not trade names.
