les deux parties les plus interessantes qui "peuvent" expliquer certaines variations
"I have one of the first Gibson Historic Les Paul's to roll off the assembly line in 93. It has the 57 classic's, that Tom Holmes helped design. (They measured 7.8 Bridge and 7.1 Neck), and He said within a year or two Gibson had started cutting corners with materials and production to cut costs, So he resigned as an advisor to Gibson. The Older 57's in My Lester are Unpotted - They will squeal at high volume, But they do sound very sweet and airy. Unlike the newer 57 Classics are wound much Hotter, 8.4 Bridge and 7.7 Neck measured in a recent Lester), and are wax potted.
I have played a few recent sets of 57 Classics and some sounded Great, and others sounded a bit Dull and Stuffy - As like anything from Gibson recently = Inconsistant."

"Real old 57's can vary. They used winding machines and some got more, some got less.
The newer ones are identicle due to computerized winders. "
