Voilà une copie du mail de remerciement qu'a envoyé Steinberg sur les newsgroups pour remercier les pirates qu'ils avaient contactés de ne pas avoir rendu disponible de copie illégale de Cubase SX 3
Très diplomates sur ce coup là Steinberg ... et apparemment ça marche puisqu'il est quasi impossible d'en trouver une !!!

Dear Sirs/Madams,
Steinberg has worked hard to bring music professionals and enthusiasts
the best music production software in the world. We believe in the right
to protect the interests of all those who have worked so very hard to
contribute to this field.
As most of you know, Steinberg has realized the difficulty in imposing
or mandating by technical means, a cessation in unauthorized
distribution of it's software products: That is why Steinberg has
privately been in contact with many if not all of the leaders of this
and similar newsgroups.
Our message has been humbly conveyed: Please respect the energies and
efforts of our developers and say no to participating in unauthorized
postings and distribution of Steinberg music production software. In
particular, please begin your new commitment and partnership with
Steinerg by keeping Cubase SX3 off the piracy newsgroups.
Many of you have been extremely civil, kind, empathetic, and responsive
to our sincere requests in this difficult area. For the most part, the
leaders of this group have voluntarily agreed to respect Steinberg's
wishes by discontinuing and stemming the practice of posting, at a
minimum, Steinberg's latest releases, but especially Cubase SX3,
Steinberg's "bread and butter" product.
We have been surprised at how gracious and considerate most of you were
in our personal dialogs and have found an immense respect for the
intelligent and ethical personalities with whom we have corresponded.
This new negotiation based effort against piracy had its naysayers
within Steinberg, but clearly, your efforts have been commendable and
from the looks of this group, effective. Normally a product like Cubase
SX3 would be released in this group ~before~ it reached store shelves.
However, the new anti-piracy campaign based on mutual respect and trust,
has kept this group relatively free from unauthorized posts of Cubase
SX3.
Thank you, to all the leaders and shakers who have used their
considerable internet power to aid our humble company. I know it was
worth giving out a few hundred free copies of Cubase SX3 to the leaders
of this group so that more and more parties can enjoy our great product
without resorting to illicit means of appropriation.
