HUMPER-4558 - Midrange Focussed Clean Boost
The HUMPER is a clean boost with a 4558 op-amp at its heart and the distinctive character and tonal filtering of the classic TS style overdrive circuits.
But unlike these old overdrive circuits there is no distortion clipping, giving you lots of clean headroom boost and tone shaping.
The LOUD control adjusts the master output volume, with lots of clean boost available.
The filtering of the high and low frequencies creates a warm and tight tone with an accentuated midrange, which is great for pushing pedals and amps harder for smooth and throaty overdrive and saturation.
The WARM and SLIM controls allow you to set the amount of treble and bass cut, with maximum settings giving you classic TS style heavy filtering of the high and low frequencies.
Rolling back the WARM control opens up the top end, for clearer and brighter tones.
Decreasing the SLIM control will add more low-mids and bass for a fatter and fuller response.
There is a trim control within the HUMPER which acts as the classic TS style TONE knob. This can be easily adjusted to taste by the user to brighten or darken the general tone of the circuit.
LOUD = Master Output Volume.
WARM = Amount of treble cut and high frequency filtering.
SLIM = Amount of bass cut and low frequency filtering.
ON = True bypass footswitch with ON status indicate by lit white LED.
IN = 6.35mm (1/4”) mono jack cable input.
OUT = 6.35mm (1/4”) mono jack cable output.
9V = 9V DC 2.1mm centre negative power supply input.
The current draw of the HUMPER is less than 20mA.
I recommend using a good quality regulated 9V DC power supply.
TONE = Internal trimmer acting as the TS style tone control knob.
The NRG Effects Monochrome series is a range of new mini sized pedals, all handmade and hand-wired using premium quality components by Neil R. Grimes in Eastbourne, England.
Don't be fooled by the size; these clean and concise little pedals are all big on tone, surprisingly versatile and very musically inspiring.
