Hemispheres est effectivement très bon, bien que très prog 70's (instru de 10mn, long morceau de 17mn prenant toute la première face).
Et puis il y a "the trees", un de leurs meilleurs morceaux, relatant la révolte des arbres (ah, les années 70 )
C'est du rock canadien, donc ça transmet des impressions de grands espaces, sensations assez inconnues pour nous, même si on écoute de la musique us qui est moins claustrophobique que la nôtre.

La voix aigüe de geddy lee on s'y fait, d'autant plus qu'il articule très bien, et interprète. C'est un excellent bassiste, qui fait bien popper les notes comme il faut, neil peart est une référence en batterie (même s'il est un peu froid... bon, il le reconnaît lui-même eh et travaille dessus), alex lifeson a des pures idées et une technique solide.

Et puis les mélodies sont belles, les structures intéressantes, ils se renouvellent, bref même si c'est un peu cheesy dans les 80s, ils ont toujours produit une musique inspirée, qui fait rêver. C'est assez rare pour qu'on s'y intéresse.
j'adore ce groupe!!
effectivement, il y a une sensation d'espace et de liberté qui se dégage de leur musique, mais apparement il st pas très connus en france ou moins connus, car ils décident de pas passer par la france pour leur tournée, et de plus j'ai découvert ce groupe il y a tous juste 1 an alors qu'il est très vieux, avant personne ne m'en avait parlé..
quelqu'un pourrait me dire quelle est le meilleur dvd live de rush?? je compte m'acheter le live in rio, mais est-ce vraiment le live incontournable, où bien y en a t-il un autre ?

Je ne connais que le dernier RIO qui est très bien. Je sais qu'il existe un DVD de EXIT LIVE en 77 si je me souviens bien et c'est une période excellentissime. Ce dernier est encore untrouvable sauf au BRESIL (bizarrement).

c'est un vieux live des années 70's, je conné ps trop cette époque ce n'est ps celle que je préfère d'eux, ms je pense que toi tu devrai aprécier
moi je trip sur la période 80's avec les sons de synthés, et aussi certains albums récent, ms bon rush c une 20aines d'albums studio, + les lives, j'ai écouté bcp d'albums et tout est bon! il n'y a rien à jeter, un très grand groupe, un batteur de genie...
mes influences : Rush, Van Halen, Cacophony, Steve Vai, Jason Becker, Marty Friedman, Cyril Achard, Steve Morse, Yngwie malmsteen, Vinnie Moore, Double Heart Project, Paul Gilbert et Diamond Dave alias DAVID LEE ROTH

Montreal,Canada (AHN)- Canadian Rock trio Rush are set to release a bundle of goodies on their fans according to the production company "Fogo", responsible for the releases.

The first release is schedule for October entitled, "R 30:Rush Live In Frankfurt Germany". The release will feature among other things 5.1 audio along with multi-angle scene selections, and rare exclusive vault footage spanning 30-years of Rush history.

Other releases due in early 2006 include "Exit Stage Left"...a 1981 concert recorded in Montreal, Canada at The Forum.

The Grace Under Pressure Tour 1984-recorded at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto,Canada - and A Show of Hands recorded on the band's 1987-88 "Hold Your Fire" tour in Birmingham, England.

All 4 DVD releases will be re-mastered along with 5.1 audio and added gallery options."

We are pleased to announce the follow-up to 2003’s internationally successful and top selling RUSH DVD “RUSH in Rio”, with “RUSH - R30” – 30th Anniversary World tour live in-concert DVD. U.S. and Canada’s release date is set for November 22nd and the UK and European release date is November 28th.

The DVD celebrates the 30th Anniversary World Tour. The concert was filmed with 14 hi-definition cameras in 16x9 widescreen format at the Festhalle, Frankfurt Germany on September 24, 2004.

The DVD will be released in two different packs. The 2 DVD Package will include the Frankfurt concert on disc one (mixed in dts and Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound); while the second DVD disc will include rare and classic performance footage from the late seventies to the Tsunami relief benefit concert in 2005 along with interview footage culled from the last three decades. The Deluxe Edition will include two CDs in addition to the aforementioned two DVD discs. The two bonus CDs feature the soundtrack from the Frankfurt concert DVD (CDs will not be sold separately). The Deluxe Edition will also include two limited edition RUSH guitar picks and a souvenir backstage pass.

The audio only version will be available via Anthem/Atlantic Records on all digital download services.
