The USRG series by Ibanez was in existence from 1994-1996. With the exception of the hardware, all the guitars in this line were completely made in the U.S.A. There were three models—USRG10 with a fixed bridge ($1299.95 USD list) , USRG20 with a Lo Pro Edge tremolo ($1449.95 USD list) , and the USRG30 with a Lo Pro Edge tremolo ($1699.95 list). All three also came with a premium Ibanez hardshell case (UM150C) that listed for $129.95 USD.
All three of the models featured black direct-mounted DiMarzio humbucking pickups (Tone Zone at the bridge and PAF PRO at the neck), 5-way pickup selector, black plastic Jem-style volume and tone knobs, Cosmo black hardware, All Access Neck Joint, bolt-on 1-piece maple PBC tension-free neck (built for Ibanez by PBC guitar in Coopersburg, PA), Dunlop 6105 fretwire, Offset pearl dot inlay, 24 frets, Gotoh tuners, and solid western alder bodies with thick figured maple tops.
The USRG10 and USRG20 both featured four color choices and AA figured maple tops (flamed or curly), rosewood fretboards, and black pegboards for their two years of manufacture while the flagship of the line (the USRG30) had nine color choices in all, AAA figured maple tops (flamed or curly), matching figured maple pegboards, and bound rosewood fretboards.
The PBC necks feature a 3/8"cold-rolled steel bar that runs the length of the neck. It relieves all tension on the wood of the neck, dramatically increases stability and sustain, and puts an end to dead spots. It also allowed all neck adjustments to be made from the heel of the guitars without even detuning.
The AAA quilted top is one of the most incredible I’ve ever seen. She plays like a dream and has tone to spare. Great, great guitar.
I have personally never played another Ibanez like a USRG. For Ibanez, the guitars are exceptionally heavy, yet so well balanced that when they are strapped on very little difference in weight can be felt when compared to a comparable model with a basswood body. The neck is a bit beefier than a Wizard neck but not so thick that it slows down play or feels awkward. The combination of direct-mounted DiMarzio pickups, PBC neck, body wood, and the bright and clear tonality of the Lo-Pro Edge give these guitars incredible sustain, tone, and power. The USRG line is truly worthy of legend status.
Bref faut pas dire qu'elle a été faite sur demande de quelqu'un cette (très belle) gratte.
C'est une guitare de petite série, mais de série quand même !
Retraité de G.com. Le bon coin suffira pour les PA.
