Bonjour à tous,
Je viens de trouver ceci sur un autre site à propos du "cathode bypass cap" manquant sur le Sweet baby.
Je vais faire ce mod bientôt et vous tiendrez au courant.
En attendant bonne lecture.
First impression is that it has a nice fairly clean sound, but pretty noisy at full volume.
I decided to try adding the cathode bypass cap right away, and what an improvement! Rich, full beautiful distortion, and fantastic touch response. Also, I can have it at full volume with only very little noise now. I can't understand why they left out that cap. Even fender puts that cap in its current 57 champ.
I used a 22uF 25v cap, which gives a gain boost over all frequencies. I was almost shocked at how much better it sounded, up until then I didn't get what the fuss was with champs.
It's pretty easy actually. There's an empty spot marked c7, and that's where the cap goes. It's strange they don't put it in. It looks like they designed the circuit board with that cap, but then decided to drop it to conform to the old (faulty) schematic.
