Some interesting Van Halen news has surfaced, and it doesn’t sound good, if it’s accurate.
Melodicrock reports that VH have cancelled their planned 2012 Summer Tour of Europe - before the dates were even announced.
But because planning was so far along for the tour, the dates and venues were already locked in. No reason has reportedly been given to promoters for the cancellation - simply that the schedule was not going to go ahead, as planned.
The alleged cancelled dates were:
05/28 – Paris, FR - Zenith
05/30 – Zurich, SW - Hallenstadion
06/01 – Barcelona, SP - Pala Jordi
06/03 – Milano, IT -Arena Fiera
06/05 – Dortmund, DE - Westfalenhalle
06/07 – Sweden Rock - Solvesborg
06/10 – Download Festival – Donington, UK
06/13 – Stuttgart, DE - Schleyerhalle
06/15 – Hellfest – Clisson, France
06/17 – Fields Of Rock Festival - Holland

In the aftermath of the original story’s posting, Andrew from Melodicrock commented online, "The tour was originally planned to start Sept in Oz, then in USA November, kick off again in Feb 2012. Hit Europe for the festivals (May/June) and then return to USA for second leg."
