Je suis en train de m'y mettre sérieusement et j'adore le son qu'ils produisent ainsi que les compos , c'est des grands du metal

Il s'est barré Schaffer ou c'est un gratteux solo ?

schaffer etant l'ame pensante du groupe il ne s'est pas barre...

Schaffer ses pas barrer merde et si tu serais plus au nouvel de se groupe tu saurais que le nouveau guitariste ses pour les solo et qu'il ont toujour eu un autre guitariste a part Schaffer et que présentement il fait des audition pour un joueur de basse et qu'il écrit le prochain album qui suit la trilogie de Something wicked et que ce concept album va etre diviser en 2 parti qui vont soritr a quelque mois d'intervalle et ce projet va durer en tout 3h30.

Iced earth, je n'aimais pas au debut. Quand tu écoutes un nouveau groupe que t'a aucune idée à quoi t'attendre... Bref, Iced Earth est mon band préféré avec les rythm de jon shaffer incroyable! Je l'admire beaucoup musicalement. Pour le changement de chanteur, je trouves ça bizarre qu'il on prit le chanteur de Priest. Mais jai été grandement surpris par ça performance. J'adore quand il va aigu! J'ai rarement vue un chanteur qui peut aller si aigu, sauf le chanteur de Deep Purple. Quelqu'un sait jouer Travel in Stygian? Moi oui mais faut dire qu'il va extrêmement vite! J'ai mal au bras à la moitier de la toune... Voila mon commentaire sur mon band favorie.

quelqu'un peut me dire s'il va avoir un nouveau album prochainement? Appart alive in athen en DVD?

La guitare de Jon shaffer dans Alive in Athen, c'est tu une BC-Rich? Si oui, quel model et quel Pickup.

Je crois que c'est une trilogie qui doit sortir prochainement ou dumoins un concept album en trois parties mais ça reste a vérifier , sinon oui c'est bien une bc rich bich mais je sais pas avec quels pickups. Sinon moi aussi je trouve que Owens assure, même mieux que dans priest (eh oui dans le priest personne ne vault le metal god ), au fait barlow aujourd'hui c'est lui ? http://www.firststateforce.org(...)r.jpg

Matt Barlow il est flic maintenant, et tout rasé ça craint...

Bon ça fait déjà un moment que l'album est sorti mais voici mon avis, qui n'est qu'un avis... Glorius Burden m'a enormément déçu, il en est de même pour le changement de line-up (en particulier pour Owens, qui me sort par les yeux, ahh.... je regrette Matthew Barlow...).

Seules les compos du cd bonus sont susceptibles d'attirer l'attention (surtout The Devil to Pay et High Water Mark) à mo, sens.
Les chansons se suivent et se ressemblent, et même si un album thème sur Gettysburg parait être une bonne idée, l'album est bien, trop patriotique à mon goût (sacré Schaffer !). Non mais franchement, vous avez vu le clip de When the Eagle Cries ? C'est a se pisser dessus !

Après, l'album en lui même n'est pas catastrophique, ça reste un bon album, mais néanmoins deçevant, et je ne voit pas en quoi il serait de meilleure composition que les précédants....
Mais bon, je suis un inconditionnel, et un grand fan de Barlow, alors forcément, mon point de vu ne peut qu'en être affecté.
Je suis plus du style Wolf, Last December, Pure Evil, ou même The Coming Curse (l'époque Barlow quoi !)...

Je remonte un peu le sujet.

Matt est partit pour des raisons de conscience après les attentats du 11 septembre.
Il a décidé de passer son "BAC" et de rentrer dans la police pour aider les gens et faire quelque chose de constructif, c'est sa vie après tout!
(Iced Earth, quoi que bien meilleur que Metallica, n'a pas la même aura. Il faut voir leurs tournées, ils ne jouent que dans des petites salles et sont peu connue aux USA. Je pense que si Matt avait eu la même reconnaissance que Hetfeild il ne serait jamais parti.)
Moi je le regrette vraiment, il est le meilleur chanteur qu'il y est eu chez Iced Earth.

Pour le The Glorious Burden c'est un bon album... mais c'est certainement pas du Iced Earth!

Entierement daccord avec Syndare.
Il n'y a pas les riffes qui ont fait la griffe Iced Earth et qui font te dire: "putain je veux jouer ce morceau!!!!!!"
Quand au chanteur il est bon mais pas dans l'esprit... j'ai quelques lives avec lui et je le trouve vraiment très en dessous de Matt niveau puissance et émotion!

Pour finir je préfère mille fois les albums de Demons and Wizards au dernier Iced Earth.

Hello All,

Again I have to apologize for the delay in updates. I've been extremely busy with writing and preproduction for the new IE CD's.

I also lost the one person that was my true mentor and inspiration throughout my life, which was very difficult. My Father, Tom Schaffer, died unexpectedly of a massive stroke in October. He was 67, and died two weeks before his 68th birthday. It's hard to imagine what my life would have been like without my Dad's influence. I would not be who I am today, that's for sure. Fortunately, he was able to travel with the band a few times, and he really enjoyed meeting and talking with the fans. He was there for the Alive in Athens recording and was dubbed Papa Earth by some of the fans in Greece. I will miss him very much.

Obviously, this had a huge impact on me and brought the writing to a halt for about a month.

I'm back on track and we are going to start recording on February 1st. We will be releasing a single/EP in June '07 that will feature the Something Wicked trilogy re-recorded and a track that will be an alternate edit of a song that will be on Something Wicked Part 2 that now has a working title of "Come What May." The label was wanting me to do something with the original trilogy to reintroduce the story. So, what we have in store for you is very cool. You will hear "Prophecy," "Birth of the Wicked," and "The Coming Curse" in a new way that will be a very killer way to kick off this massive epic.

I don't want to give you any details to spoil the surprise, but trust me, it's going to be awesome.

"Something Wicked (Part 1)" will be released in the September/October '07 time frame and Part 2 will follow in January/February '08.

This is by far the most epic task I've ever taken on as a songwriter and I really feel like it will be worth all the sacrifice when it's finished. I've been working nonstop for over a year now and it's coming together in a very special way. I've just about finished all the musical arrangements and am now focusing on writing the lyrics/vocal melodies. I'm in the final stretch now........

Tim Mills has contributed a few really cool pieces of music and has shown a real interest in the whole "Something Wicked" story, and a real passion for being involved with the band. All this while owning and operating his own company (Bare Knuckle Pickups). I'm impressed, it's a rare quality, believe me.

Also, the bass player on the next record is a local boy from Indianapolis whose name is James "Bo" Wallace. Bo is a killer player and a great personality. I went to see him perform several months ago and was impressed with his abilities, energy and passion. He played with Ma Kelley for many years and released several records on a few different independent labels. Without a doubt, Bo is a great bass player and I'm happy to have him working with Iced Earth.

Mais j'hallucine!!! Aucun commentaire après le nouvel album d'Iced Earth et la tournée qui a suivi?

Mais si je poste ici c'est pour annoncer une nouvelle encore plus grande: Matthew Barlow est de retour dans le groupe et va réenregistrer la deuxième partie de Something Wicked!

Je préfère m’abstenir de le commenter le dernier…
Mais effectivement, j’ai appris ce matin le retour de Matthew, et ça c’est une nouvelle énorme !

Edit: Par contre, Il ne semble pas qu’un réenregistrement de Framing Armageddon soit prévu :

C’est à dire sur Revelation Abomination, qui est la “part 2” de FA, le « Something Wicked concept CD » étant l’ensemble FA + RA.
