C'est officiel, VR et Scott se séparent. VR l'a confirmé dans un communiqué de presse :

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Velvet Revolver founding members Slash, Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum and Dave Kushner announced today that they are parting ways with singer Scott Weiland. "This band is all about its fans and its music and Scott Weiland isn't 100% committed to either," said Slash. "Among other things, his increasingly erratic on-stage behavior and personal problems have forced us to move on."

"After reading the comment by Duff, Matt, Dave and the illustrious 'Guitar Hero,' Saul Hudson, a.k.a. Slash, I find it humorous that the so-called four 'founding members' of VELVET REVOLVER, better known to themselves as 'the Project' before I officially named the band, would decide to move on without me after I had already claimed the group dead in the water on March 20 in Glasgow. In response to Slash's comment regarding my commitment [to the band], I have to say it is a blatant and tired excuse to cover up the truth. The truth of the matter is that the band had not gotten along on multiple levels for some time. On a musical level, there were moments of joy, inspiration, fun ... at times. But let's not forget the multiple trips to rehab every member of the band had taken (with the exception of one member — no need to mention his name).

"Personally speaking, I choose to look forward to the future and performing with a group of friends I have known my entire life, people who have always had my back," Weiland continued. "This also speaks to my commitment to my music and my fellow bandmates in [STONE TEMPLE PILOTS] and to the fans who I feel would much rather watch a group of musicians who enjoy being together as opposed to a handful of discontents who at one time used to call themselves a gang."

In conclusion, Weiland warned fans not to be "fooled by veiled trickery," and even wished VELVET REVOLVER his best. "Good hunting, lads — I think Sebastian Bach would be a fantastic choice."

Sources close to the band have indicated that former Skid Row frontman - and close personal friend of Axl Rose - Sebastian Bach looks set to front the band, although nothing has been officially confirmed.

mouais.... perso j'aurais préféré Cornell... mais bon ça semblait si improbable.

c'est marrant... dans son livre slash parle du fait qu'ils avaient auditionne sebastian bach pour le post avant weiland...

et slash disait qu'ils avaient renonce, parce que ca sonnait exactement comme un melange de skid row et guns n roses et qu'il voulait un groupe different...

En même temps Bach est un bon chanteur...donc c'est ptêtre un mec comme ça qu'on attend depuis des années aux côtés de Slash !

Oh non, par pitié, pas le pantin Sebastian Bach… Bon chanteur certes mais, entre autres bémols, se répandre sur Slash et consors dans la presse a pas dû vraiment prêcher pour sa paroisse.

Même si j'ai toujours adoré weiland depuis ses débuts...j'ai toujours trouvé ce choix un peu contre nature, mais au final ça a donné quelques chansons vraiment cool qui ont mélangé avec brio ce qui fait les deux écoles de chaque camp.

Mais ça ne pouvait pas durer, là je ne suis vraiment pas étonné du résultat..et je pense que Slash ne va justement plus prendre de risques en s'attelant à la lourde tâche de se taper un chanteur avec qui l'association est contre-nature...

Chris Cornell fait partie de ces choix contre nature...ça ne marcherait que de par la curiosité que ça engendrerait...mais je pense que ça ne le fera plus car ce coup ci autant cornell que velvet auront deja tenté une association douteuse (audioslave pour l'un et weiland pour les autres...)

Rod Jackson aurait été une éventualité...mais au vu de ce qu'il fait actuellement... ( http://www.myspace.com/3ofadifferentkind ) ...j'en doute...

bach est la solution la plus réaliste...ça sonnera plus typé heavy...certes...mais putain quoi...qu'on me fasse pas croire que Velvet a prit un pied phénoménal à enregistrer certains trucs de dans libertad, force est de constater que c'est pas le top...tout ce que j'ai reussi à dire de bien de cet album est que j'ai capté la grandeur du jeu de matt sorum...

Slash a vraiment tenté de se forcer à evoluer en proposant des trucs moins heavy mais ça ne le fait pas...et sur scéne, tout compte fait ils ne choisisaient que les plus heavy du lot, sans parler du malin plaisir qu'ils avaient en ressortant les vieux guns...

Slash devrait ptete penser un peu à la Angus young...c'est à dire, proposer les choses qu'on attend de lui..."Evolution can be a Weakness"...disait Angus...

Bref...en attendant que guns se reforme (parceque désormais...ça commence à me paraitre de plus en plus évident...) Que Slash passe un peu le temps avec Bach...et tout ira bien

exemple le riff dirty little thing avec sex type thing, c'est pratiquement le meme a l'envers le riff hein

Moi non ! Ecoute Razorball avec Reeves Gabrels, plus Heavy et rythmé ! Ces trucs là montés avec Big Swede, c'est des petits projets et mon avis si jamais on lui proposait une place dans Velvet Revolver, il ne refuserait pas pour rester dans ce truc underground (à moins qu'il le souhaite).
