J'ai échangé quelques mails avec Bjorn Juhl (BJF), à propos du Little Red Trebler, donc j'en fais profiter la collectivité (par contre, c'est en anglais):
The Little Red Trebler is a pedal intended to give exacting control over
brightness
without having a great lift in output as in gain boost. The LRT also retains
the bass.
Its use includes brightening up dark instruments, getting control over a treble
range
often very hard to control from amplifier - especially those that have a bright
switch
and with which one would like to set the bright switch in an imaginary 'in
between'.
LRT can also be used before other pedals such as some fuzzes and distortion and
Overdrive pedals to set treble emphasis ahead of main distortion generation so
clean
sound may cling better to distorted sound- often one would require a brighter
from
amplifier than what works with some fuzz or distortionpedals and in this LRT
can be placed ahead to give the brightness at very low noiselevel.
With some amps that have a soft tone the LRT can be used to provide either the
often refered to 'twang' on clean sounds or bring clarity to a distorted sound.
The pedal has one control 'Amount' that set the brightness.
The LRT is designed for lowest noise, and it is buffered as that would fit most
of its uses. It has the approximate dimensions of an old MXR-that is 30x 60x120
mm.
Like almost all my other effects it is powered from 9V battery and has a
standard 9V 2,1 mm barrel type batterieliminator jack, with standard polarity.
As a side remark this model was made as an inlay in the debatte at a symposium
held in Sweden a couple of years ago about the correct turn over frequency of
treble boosting. Under articles at
www.custom-sounds.com you can find 'Why
Boost Treble?' which deals with the use of trebleboosters
